I seem to have fallen into the terrible habit of watching Netflix before bed instead of climbing into bed with a good book on my Kindle. I absolutely love reading and I feel guilty for having pushed books aside because I’ve been too busy or tired or just plain lazy. So for the month of October, inspired by The Private Life of a Girl, I’ve set myself a goal to read the following books.
The Moaning of Life – Karl Pilkington
Easing myself back into reading with a book written by an orange. I’m sorry Karl we love you really.
He’s a Stud, She’s a Slut and 49 Other Double Standards – Jessica Valenti
I can’t even think how long ago it was that I first heard of this book. I remember seeing it when my feminist self was in very early stages. It is time.
Dawn of the Dumb – Charlie Brooker
After reading all of Brooker’s other books, I’d skipped this one down to moderately-high pricing on the Kindle store. Thanks to a very generous gift voucher for Kindle my older brother bought me for my birthday, I finally downloaded this.
Helter Skelter – Vincent Bugliosi & Curt Gentry
I’m so glad this has finally been released on Kindle! I’ve been wanting to read this for a while but it wasn’t available electronically or at my local library. I’m stoked for this one.
Fahrenheit 451 – Ray Bradbury
A story that I’ve been told time and time again is right up my street, not just by people but also by Amazon and Goodreads. I shall stop putting it off.
