The Two Year Itch

Happy blogiversary to me…. I started this blog back in November 2012, and at the time was super inspired to write. When I was in university I had a lot of spare time on my hands. I was reading all the timeย and listening to music and soaking in plenty of media flavoured goodness to have opinions and comments on. Two years later and I’m still writing the same blog; albeit renamed and re-vamped and even re-archived. There are times when I’m proud of my little blog and times where I just want to pack it in and stop writing it altogether.

A couple of months ago I bought the URL to replace and give my blog a bit of a makeover. I’d just ‘cleaned out’ my photo library on WordPress only to find that ‘cleaning out’ meant permanently deleting every photo from every blog post so my blog became imageless. So once I’d made this huge mistake I decided to archive my old posts and even considered moving to Blogspot/Blogger before remembering all the reasons I loved the WordPress community. WordPress is somewhere where poets and writers thrive, where comments are thought provoking and people aren’t all blog-famous and Tumblr-esque.

Today I received a response to one of my posts for the first time in ages and knowing someone enjoyed reading what I wrote felt good but it also reminded me of how very few responses I get. I feel my content has become unoriginal and un-thought-out. I don’t invest enough time in coming up with decent ideas for my posts that aren’t just basic reviews of things.

In conclusion; I’ve decided to take a few weeks away from blogging to refresh the old noggin with new ideas of things to write. When I return (in my own time) I’ll be itching to get writing again and will have an array of interesting new content to put out there.

Peace out,
