The Body Shop Volumising Rainforest Shampoo & Conditioner

When it comes to hair care the market is absolutely saturated with choice but there’s very little for those who prefer a Cruelty Free alternative. Most of the big name brands including Herbal Essences, Aussie and Loreal all test their products on animals which leaves my choice of shampoo and conditioner extremely limited. Having tried and disliked most of Lush’s hair care products, I headed for The Body Shop in hopes of finding some CF hair care with a reasonable price tag. protect-planet

The Body Shop only stock three styles of shampoo and conditioner; the ginger anti-dandruff range, their banana products and the Rainforest collection. The Rainforest Collection is then split into four different products based on four commonly targeted afflictions; balance, moisture, volumising, radiance and shine. Having always had rather thin hair (made worse by my dreadlock attempt in 2013) I opted straight away for the volumising shampoo and conditioner.

The Body Shop Rainforest Volumising shampoo & conditioner are paraben free, silicone free, sulphate free and cruelty free. They also manufacture this product with an eco-conscious formula which means it’s also 100% guilt free. The eco-conscious policy means that it is not only a fair-trade product but it has been made from ingredients which are renewable and non-toxic. The packaging is also recyclable and bio-degradable.

Starting with the scent of these products; I feel that they don’t leave much of a scent behind at all after use but smell great in the bottle/during use. The shampoo left my hair squeaky and the conditioner, similar to Retread by Lush, seemed to sink into my hair rather than sit on it and although it didn’t detangle much, it certainly left my hair feeling super soft.

Have you tried any of the Rainforest range? What are your favourite CF hair products?
