Netflix & Chill #5

Because I’ve been freelancing and going to job interviews rather than working a normal 40 hour week, I’ve had a lot of time to sit around watching Netflix (in between other much important things of course.) I’ve even got to that sad stage of just blindly choosing whatever pops up first which has lead to me discover some pretty rad shows!

They Came Together

Two of my favourites; Amy Poehler & Paul Rudd star in this hilarious rom-com which is much funnier than your typical boy meets girl story. I need to watch this again because it had me laughing from start to finish.

Laid

Laid is an Australian series based around a woman whose ex-lovers all start dying and she doesn’t know why. It’s quite off the cuff and funny and represents women in a pretty realistic way.

The Little Death (US Only)

This film hooked me with the opening scene in which a wife asks her husband to rape her. He laughs and says it’s okay and then rates her because he had clearly misheard. I also loved the style of this film and how the characters stories were short and intertwined.

The Overnight

This film includes OITNB’s Taylor Schilling (Piper) and Parks & Rec’s Adam Scott as a couple who spend the night with their new found friends after arranging a play-date for their kids. Things get weird.

Chelsea Does…

Comedian Chelsea Handler does; marriage, Silicon Valley, racism and drugs in this short documentary series. I later watched her stand up because I found her humour fantastic and her attitude relatable.

Child’s Play

I think the main reason I watched this was to freak out the person I watched it with. Still, it was a typical hilariously bad horror and a must see for horror fanatics.

It’s a Boy Girl Thing

I can’t believe I’d never seen this until my friend pointed it out on Netflix as something he’d wanted to see for a while. It’s a Freaky Friday style movie but slightly cheesier, but also hilarious.

Women Who Kill (US Only)

A great set of female comedians perform on stage in New York, featuring Amy Schumer- I’ve caught a couple of episodes of her show before and loved it so that’s going to be next on my binge list.
