FRIDAY FIVE #23: Five Quotes That Y’all Need to Stop Quoting

Time for a slight rant about over shared, under useful quotations which get shared over and over online. Have some originality people your quotes don’t even make sense….

IF YOU CAN’T HANDLE ME AT MY WORST, YOU SURE AS HELL DON’T DESERVE ME AT MY BEST

Shared by basic spoilt bitches everywhere. Conceited and just NO. That’s just an excuse for acting your worst. What makes you think your best is so amazing that I’m willing to endure your worst? Maybe I shouldn’t have to put up with your shit in order to have you behaving like a normal human being. Marilyn Monroe was a stupid twat and so are you.

I’D RATHER HAVE A PASSPORT FULL OF STAMPS THAN A HOUSE FULL OF STUFF

Actually I’d rather have both. I’ve got quite a bit of stuff in my house and I have a few stamps on my passport (I’ve done Cali, Vegas, Vancouver, Toronto, North, South and Western Australia, Italy, Sweden, France, Amsterdam/the Netherlands….) but the point are that these are holidays. Temporary get aways. I don’t want to come back to nothing or spend my whole life moving around. Travelling is nice but coming home to my house full of stuff aka bed, pillows and M is much better than coming home to an empty bedroom at my mum and dads house with a passport full of distant memories.

LIVE FAST DIE YOUNG

Well that’s just stupid. Living fast causes anxiety and depression and your whole life to disappear before your eyes. Slow living is happier, better for the environment and better for those around you. Looking forward to things in nice however living fast and wishing your days away is an awful way to live. You’ll end up depressed and full of regret. Enjoying every day and every moment as it comes is much better, appreciate what you have and LIVE SLOW DIE OLD.

IF YOU TO BE 100 THEN I WANT TO LIVE TO BE 100 MINUS ONE DAY SO I NEVER HAVE TO LIVE WITHOUT YOU

Yeah nice one Pooh you dipshit, this only works if you and Piglet (or whoever is sharing and applying this quotation to their lives) are born on the exact same day. As far as I’m aware Piglet is just a little piglet, and you are a grown ass bear with a honey specific eating disorder and a fear of your own footprints. So I’m pretty sure you weren’t born on the same day. Also where is Piglets mother? Poor Piglet.

LIVE LAUGH LOVE

I hate all these empty and meaningless quotes we see on home decor for three quid in Primark that some poor child in another part of the world has been paid a penny a day to make. If you want to fill your home with sweet and heartfelt words then make them your own!

  1. I agree with your points as regards the quotes you reference. Quotations do have a place when used to underline a point, for example using a quotation from Mill’s “On Liberty” to underline the importance of free expression/the liberty of the individual. Inane quotations or meaningless conversation always brings to mind Macbeth, “It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing”. Oops, I just used a quote! Kevin
