BE MORE CONCIOUS

When we stop being conscious about our decisions, it’s easy to take things for granted and let life just pass you by. We sometimes forget to stop and appreciate the moment. Sometimes we only realise we were happy when we reflect on a situation rather than when we were experiencing it and that’s one of the saddest things in life- not realising what you’ve got until it’s gone. By being more conscious we can appreciate all the little things that truly make us happy instead of focusing on the past or the future.

APPRECIATE WHAT YOU HAVE

It’s easy to forget how lucky we are. I recently realised how truly fortunate I have been in my life and had a total cry about it in this post. Sometimes we really are too busy looking at the negative to remember all the things that on a good day we would thank life for. Whether it’s your family, your partner, your pets, your home comforts or even the book you’re reading; it’s worth taking time to consider the things that you are grateful for.

FOCUS LESS ON THE PAST & MORE ON THE FUTURE

Dwelling in the past can quite literally drive you crazy. I used to worry myself so much with things that had already happened and there is legit no reason to. Focus on where you’re going instead of where you’re from and only good can come of it. You can never change what’s already happened but you can put yourself in the driving seat of where you’re going.

MAKE TIME FOR YOUR HOBBIES

We’re often so much on our feet that when we get time to relax it’s easy to turn into a couch potato the second we get a minute to ourselves. This leads to no sense of achievement! Instead focus your spare time on the things you enjoy like reading, going for a run or drawing something beautiful. Why waste time in front of Netflix when it could be the background noise for so much more?!

TRY NEW THINGS

I have been saying yes to things I wouldn’t normally want to do – like going to a football match & social events I’d normally find nerve wracking –  and it’s really distracting me from all the other horrible things that should be going round my mind with all that’s happened lately. If you throw yourself out of your comfort zone during the times that your comfort zone has become a negative space, then you’re bound to turn that frown upside down!
