H E L L O   M Y   L I T T L E  C H R I S T M A S  E L V E S !

I haven’t stopped singing “it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas” since we started December, I’ve ticked off almost everything from my Christmas bucket list  and I have officially hit peak Christmas Spirit after visiting Birmingham’s lovely Christmas market yesterday evening.

If the Christmas spirit still hasn’t hit home then check out this post by Hannah International which is sure to get you in a festive mood!

Another great way to get yourself feeling festive is to visit a Christmas Market! Despite a horrendous hangover, I managed to drag myself out of bed and into the car for an afternoon of Ikea madness and festive fun in Birmingham.

Frankfurt Christmas Market in Birmingham has been running for fifty years and is the largest German Christmas market outside of Germany (& Austria). It’s also running right up until 29th December so there’s still plenty of time to plan a trip!

The market starts/ends at Victoria Square where there is live music, a Ferris wheel and lots of beautiful lights. Everybody was singing Christmas music and it was so busy that you could barely move!

The rest of the market is spread down New Street and features 120 different stalls. It’s a shame I was so hungover because the food all smelt so so good and made us so nostalgic for Budapest as it really reminded us of their Central Market Hall. I’d recommend going there when you’re super hungry and making the most of all the delicious cuisine like Bratwurst, Pretzels and Schnizels. They even had Churros and Hungarian Kurtos Kalac as well as roasted nuts, german beer, hot chocolate and mulled wine… heaven?

As you’ll see from the photos below the Christmas Market is also a wonderful place to pick up Christmas gifts and has stalls with beautiful gifts and homewares, jewellery and stunning baubles. Ash bought me a stunning new silver ring for just £8, I only wish it had been less busy so we’d been able to browse without getting stressed out at the crowds.

Now check out the photos…
